Ector Eagles coach Jayson Adams, who previously coached the high school’s softball team to the Class 1A state championship game, will now move to the boys’ side of the athletic program.
Adams will not be a head coach at this time, the school announced on its Facebook page, but he will have the role of the general junior high sports coach and assistant baseball coach for Ector High School.
New head softball coach Terry Drain was recently hired to head the softball program for the 2020-21 school year. Drain comes from Hebron High School as an assistant softball coach. His new hire was approved by the school board during its June board meeting.
Blake Turner, who was the previous head baseball coach, will be the head coach of the high school boys basketball team to go with head golf coach duties. Turner will also assist with the cross country program.
Ector High School’s new head baseball coach is Wesley Thompson. He was promoted to the head job for the Eagles varsity from his previous role as an assistant coach. New hires and information pertaining to this story were confirmed by Ector ISD sources.
