Ector Independent School District recently named Jennifer Morris as its new superintendent.

As a little girl growing up, I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up,” said Morris. “I have had a very blessed career thus far and continue to surprise myself. I look forward to working with Mr. Evans and Mr. Bankston this school year. Mr. Bankston will step into the principal role for the elementary campus and Mr. Evans will continue the principal role for junior high and high school. We will absolutely work together to provide the highest standards of education for your children.”

With 16 years of experience under her belt, Morris’s career started off in Dodd City ISD as a first grade and reading recovery teacher and eventually a second-grade teacher. After that, she taught second grade for Anna ISD. Then, she took on roles as a special reading assistant followed by an assistant middle school at Anna ISD. Later, Morris was the elementary principal at S&S Consolidated ISD for two years, followed by the same title for the last three years in Ector ISD.

“From the first day the Pre-Kers walk into the building until the last day the seniors leave class for the last time, it is my job to see that all staff will work as a team to ensure their success. You, the parent, are a vital part of this Ector team! We look forward to working with you to achieve your child’s goals. Communication is very important to me. I will do my very best to keep you up-to-date on announcements and events throughout the year. Ector ISD has the best students & community members! We all want to see our students succeed in life and will go the extra mile to ensure their future is bright. I am excited about the future of our district and am honored to be in this position.”
