To “show surrounding communities how much support (President) Trump has,” several community members are set to line up for the Texas-Oklahoma Trump Parade on Oct. 10, 2020, at 8 a.m. The parade is expected to leave its line up at 9 a.m.
“This isn’t just for Lamar County and Choctaw County. This everybody, anywhere in the nation,” Robert Black, Association of Lamar County Republicans President said. “I want as many patriots as possible there with their U.S. and Texas flags as well as Trump flags and other Trump campaign material. I want it to make a huge impact on the area and show the surrounding communities just how much support Trump has here.”
Black said everyone needs to understand their vote matters, because the larger voter turnout from rural, conservative America will “offset the liberal mindset of the metropolitan areas.
“Metropolitan areas typically have a lower (voter) turnout, so we can make a huge impact on the election if every hard-working American will just get out and exercise their right,” he said. “The president is working hard for our economy, our education system and the traditional American family. The least we can do is get out and tell him thank you by voting.”
Parade’s Route
The Texas-Oklahoma Trump Parade route in Texas will begin at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds, 570 E. Center St., proceed north on Main St. and then head North on Highway 271 toward the Red River. The Oklahoma route begins at the Hugo Agriplex, 415 E. Rena St. in Hugo and proceed toward Highway 271, Southbound to the Red River. Some participants will continue to Durant, then south to Sherman and back toward Paris.
Confirmed vehicles in the parade include a plane with a banner over the parade among other planes, SEMIs, cars, trucks, RVs, cattle trailers, motorcycles and others.
