Officials have now reported 12 positive cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Fannin County since the beginning of the pandemic.

Seven of those individuals reside in Bonham (four females aged 30, 33, 65 and 76 and three males aged 23, 64 and 72), one resides in Dodd City (female aged 57), two reside in Trenton (both male aged 31 and 47), one resides in Ivanhoe (female age unknown) and one in Telephone (female aged 62).

Additionally, officials stated that individuals one, two, six, seven and nine have all recovered and returned to their usual work and personal activities. Individual 10 is still quite ill but improving in a hospital, individual 11 is at home sick and individual 12 is at home sick but improving.

Dr. Froelich said, “Again, I am happy to report that there have been no fatalities in Fannin County citizens from COVID-19 and there have been no cases found in any of our county residents of nursing homes. However, we are still in the increasing phase of the pandemic in Texas. Therefore, continued vigilance, protective masks, meticulous hand washing and especially social-distancing are our best defense in protecting us and our neighbors.”

He further encouraged residents to think of ways to protect others from you and you from others with the knowledge that a person infected with the virus is asymptomatic for at least 48-hours prior to their expression of fever or other symptoms.
