The Ladonia Police Department is seeking leads into who fired shots in the area of West Main and FM 2990 early Sunday morning.

According to reports, the incident happened around 1:15 a.m. with witnesses stating that unknown subjects in two vehicles fired shots before fleeing the area.

Police say approximately 12 shots were fired, with one of the bullets striking an overhead electrical power line. The fallen power line shorted out a nearby transformer, causing a local power outage. Oncor Electric responded, repaired the line and restored electrical service.

“One vehicle was described as a red pickup with chrome wheels and the second vehicle was a white passenger car with a vinyl graphic that said ‘Jesus,'” said the Ladonia Police Department. “Officers were advised that the subjects involved were from the Paris area and were in Ladonia to attend a party at that location.”

Shell casings were collected at the scene and will be processed for fingerprint and DNA analysis.
