The National Football League recently announced its decision in conjunction with the NFL Players Association to not allow field sideline access for cheerleaders and mascots across the league, including the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

The NFL has allowed teams to independently navigate attendance policies and other situations surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, but the league updated its protocols in enforcing the new mandate, which also includes no access for sideline sports and news reporters.

Despite the grim outlook for those who normally can access the field, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will not be shut out entirely.

“There is no game day entertainment personnel allowed on the field this season.  However, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will be permitted to perform on the end zone touchdown decks during the game,” said Charlotte Jones Anderson.

The Cowboys have also previously stated that it plans to allow fans into its stadium in Arlington at a certain capacity, in accordance with coronavirus guidelines.
