On Mar. 16, 2022, the Savoy Police Department was made aware of a wanted felon within the City of Savoy and officers immediately set up surveillance on a residence on Edwards Street.
According to reports, the male was seen leaving his residence at approximately 6 a.m. and a traffic stop was conducted by officers in the area of NE Front Street and Water Street.
“The male subject was non-compliant and resisted arrest,” said Savoy PD in a press release. “He was forcibly removed from his truck and taken into custody.”
He was charged with Resisting Arrest and on a Fannin County warrant for Probation Revocation (DWI 3rd or more).
The man was transported to the Fannin County Jail after being examined by Bonham EMS and TMC-Bonham staff.
No officers sustained any injuries.
