Two arrested after illegal weapons and drugs seized in Ladonia home raid

Two people were arrested in Ladonia on Monday after a raid resulted in the discovery of drugs and illegal weapons.

Shortly before 11 a.m., Fannin County’s Special Response Team executed a search warrant at 305 Park Street in Ladonia after an open investigation between Bonham Police Department Narcotics together with the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit.

“Upon making entry to the residence, officers seized multiple illegal firearms and drugs,” said FCSO Lt. Frank Deater. “The evidence was assorted controlled substances such as meth weighing approximately 15.4 grams, marijuana residue and burnt cigarettes, dried mushrooms, assorted pills, two illegal sawed-off shotguns, one 12ga. and one 410ga., as well as, a 9mm pistol.”

The two subjects were identified as, 41-year old Misty Dawn Simpson, of Ladonia, and 50-year old Marty Matthew Mooreland, of Dallas.

Charges are pending for the drugs, illegal weapons, and possession of firearms by felons.
