Barbecue lunch, other fundraising activities set for Nov. 14 to benefit VFW

There will be a barbecue lunch to benefit the veterans of foreign wars, set for Nov. 14.

Costs for a barbecue plate starts at $12, it’s $20 for a cup for all you can drink and $30 for the unlimited drink cup and a barbecue plate.

Alongside the barbecue plate, there will also be a corn hole tournament, poker run silent auction, raffles, door prizes, live music and more. The silent auction will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The corn hole tournament costs $60 per two-man team and teams must be registered by Nov. 7 either online or at TWFG. The tournament will be played by TCL rules, it is bring your own bags and double elimination. First-place prize is $400, second-place $300 and third-place $200.

The poker run will begin at 9 a.m., and pre-registration is at TWFG, 1609 N. Center St. However, registration on the day of the event starts at 8 a.m. The barbecue lunch is included in the poker run. It is $25 for one rider in the poker run and $40 for two riders. Prizes will be awarded.
