With many kids not being able to have birthday parties with friends and family due to the coronavirus pandemic, police officers in Honey Grove went above and beyond to make one little boy’s birthday extra special.

“Big special thanks to the Honey Grove Police Department and Chief Leigh Dixon for making this Noah’s fourth birthday the best,” said Carmen Carroll.

On April 13, Carroll posted a video of the officers singing ‘Happy Birthday’ amid flashing lights while Noah stood on the sidewalk barely containing his excitement.

“I can’t say thank you enough! They are the BEST,” she said.

However, Carroll said the professionalism and care shown from the Honey Grove Police Department for the boys didn’t stop there.

“That evening, Officer Pruitt came out to talk to Noah and his brother Chase about gun safety after their mom bought toy guns for little man’s birthday. His mom, Bre just completed the Police Academy several weeks ago, and I know she will have her service weapon around plus the one she already carries. It is very important for the safety of her, the boys, and others for them to learn how important safety is and, once again, HGPD went above and beyond.”

Honey Grove Police Department is just one of many police departments and fire stations around the country that are participating in “drive-by birthdays” to bring excitement and joy to people on their birthday. If you or someone you know is having a birthday and you would like to surprise them, call your local department for more information.
