Organizers of Uncle Jesse’s Big Bass Classic fishing tournament have decided to cancel this year’s competition due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the current economy.
“We have made the hard decision to not have the tournament in 2020 and come back in 2021 in a big way,” they posted on social media.
The auction, however, will be moving forward and will run from now until Sept 5 at 5 p.m. Bid increases are in $10 increments. Only bids on the Big Bass Classic Facebook page will be accepted.
They will be taking bids on the trophy buckle, which is one of a kind made by Gist Silversmiths. Gist buckles are made in the U.S.A. All auction items will be loaded to the designated Big Bass Classic page.
“No private messages, texts, or emails for bids will be taken to keep everyone fair,” they said.
The money raised from the online auction will go into the general fund to help the needy children in the area.
“Thank you in advance for helping make a difference in a child’s life!” they said.
