GM recalls more than 60,000 Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon due to power steering

General Motors has issued a recall of more than 60,000 of its 2015 models Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon mid-size pickup trucks due to a faulty power steering assembly which could cause the vehicles’ power steering to no longer work.

As affected vehicles could potentially lose its power steering, this could in turn increase the risk of an accident.

When the power steering goes out, it will make it more difficult for the driver to control the vehicle.

While 60,678 vehicles in the U.S. are being affected by the recall, General Motors will instruct dealers to replace the steering gear torque sensor cover assembly. And the repairs will be made at no cost to the vehicle’s owner, according to GM Authority.

GM said the company will let owners of affected vehicles know when to make an appointment with a dealer, and if the owner is unsure if their vehicle is affected, click here or visit my.gm.com/recalls and type in the vehicle’s VIN.
