Governor Greg Abbott on Friday issued a disaster declaration for the State of Texas to include all counties.
In the declaration, Governor Abbott ordered the temporary suspension of visitation at all local jails and Texas Department of Criminal Justice facilities.
This suspension is in effect until terminated by the Governor or until the disaster declaration is lifted or expires.
The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office understands the value of the visitation process and will resume the normal visitation schedule as soon as the restrictions are lifted by the Governor.
