A Trenton man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a bank in Leonard on Friday night.

According to reports, around 6 p.m. a suspect presented a note to the teller at the First United Bank, 200 W Collins Street, who provided an undisclosed amount of currency. Police say there was no gun displayed.

“A combination of surveillance videos from the bank and Leonard Pharmacy, along with a detailed description from witnesses, made it possible to get a BOLO out immediately,” said Brian Meserole, Leonard Chief of Police.

Meserole said a Bells Police Officer spotted the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop which resulted in the arrest of Kevin James Long and a female passenger.

Texas Rangers obtained a search warrant for the suspect vehicle which revealed evidence linking the suspect to the robbery at the First United Bank.

Long was taken into custody by the Texas Rangers and transported to the Grayson County Jail. The female passenger was released at the scene.

It was also determined early in the investigation, that the suspect may have been involved in other robberies in the area.
