The Nation’s top law enforcement agency issued a statement, expecting armed protests planned for Washington D.C. and 50 U.S. state capitol cities prior to President-elect Joe Biden’s Jan. 20 inauguration.
The FBI, in a note obtained by ABC News, warns of a possible “uprising.”
“The FBI received information about an identified armed group intending to travel to Washington, D.C. on 16 Jan. … As of 9 January, reports indicate there are armed protests planned at all 50 state capitols from 16 January through at least 20 January, and at the US Capitol from 17 January through 20 January,” the FBI’s memo stated. “They have warned that if Congress attempts to remove POTUS via the 25th Amendment, a huge uprising will occur.”
According to reports, federal officials have directed agencies to tighten its security around statehouses throughout the nation.
