According to Delta County Sheriff’s Office, a body was located at about 10:45 a.m. on Dec. 20 at John’s Creek Boat Ramp at Jim Chapman Lake after crews began a search and recovery operation.
Gerry Grigg had been missing since late Friday afternoon, his last known whereabouts were near the Klondike Boat Ramp.
With the help of the Department of Public Safety’s helicopter, a kayak belonging to Grigg was found, alongside some of his personal belongings.
Justice of the Peace Shannon McCulloch was contacted, and Grigg’s body has been sent for a forensic exam to further determine the cause of death.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time,” Delta County Sheriff’s Office said.
