The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office is hoping that with public assistance they can locate missing Powderly man 34-year old Justin Hughes.
The Sheriff’s Office was notified about Hughes on Aug 22, with the initial report saying he was last seen in Powderly on Friday Aug 21.
Authorities describe Hughes as a white male, approximately 230 lbs, 5’11” tall with brown hair and green eyes.
Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies, North West area Volunteer Fire Departments, Volunteers and Texas Department of Criminal Justice K9 Unit searched for Hughes around County Road 45250.
“The search began after the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office was notified that Hughes was missing and continued on until the afternoon of Aug 23,” said Chief Deputy Tommy Moore with the LCSO.
At this stage officials do not believe there has been any foul play. The Sheriff’s Office is asking for help from anyone that may have knowledge concerning the whereabouts of Hughes.
He was last seen wearing a plaid shirt, faded blue jeans and boots.
If you have any information on his whereabouts or can help provide a better time line of his travels please call the LCSO at 903-737-2400.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hughes family for a safe return,” said Moore of the departments’ hopes.
