An officer-involved shooting left one man dead Monday night in Greenville.
Greenville Police Department responded to a disturbance between tenants at Ranchview Apartments, 5700 Industrial, at about 5:55 p.m. on Monday. A few hours later, at about 9:25 p.m., officers were dispatched again to the same area in reference to a report of shots fired.
“It was discovered that a male was discharging both a rifle and a handgun,” said Greenville City Manager Summer Spurlock. “When officers contacted the male, he raised the handgun in the direction of officers in a threatening manner. Officers discharged their duty weapons, striking the male.”
According to Spurlock, the male is deceased.
