The Dallas Zoo has named its new Sumatran tiger cubs after conservation heroes who are currently working to save critically endangered Sumatran tigers in their natural habitat.

“The cubs have names!! Just like their big sister, these cubs have been named after amazing conservation heroes who are working to save critically endangered Sumatran tigers in their natural habitat right now. Introducing… Nety & Rudi,” the zoo tweeted on Tuesday.

The female cub was named after Nety Riana Sari, who has a project to restore forests in Sumatra, Indonesia. While the male cub was named after Rudi Putra, who’s trying to protect one of the last remaining rainforests in that country.

“With only 400-600 Sumatran tigers remaining in the wild, each birth is a major win for this critically endangered species, and we’re thrilled to be able to contribute to the population once again with these newest adorable additions.”

Nety and Rudi were born on Dec. 6 to mom, Suki, and dad, Kuasa, and currently weigh in at 4.48 lbs and 5.10 lbs.
