Not a subscriber to Netflix, but want to watch some of their top shows? That won’t be an issue now as the streaming giant is opening up some of their biggest “hits” for non-subscribers to enjoy.
“We’re looking at different marketing promotions to attract new members and give them a great Netflix experience,” a Netflix spokesperson told TechCrunch.
Think it’s too good to be true? Well, you’re kind of right; there is a catch…as always.
According to India Today, Netflix, while it gives access to three movies, including Bird Box, The Two Popes, and Murder Mystery, they are also providing access to several shows.
However, only the first episodes of these shows will be available to users to watch; after that episode ends, Netflix sends a prompt asking you to subscribe.
Shows include Stranger Things, Grace and Frankie, Boss Baby: Back in Business, Our Planet, Love Is Blind, When They See Us, and Elite.
When it comes to the available movies, there’s a 30-second ad before the film begins. Users do have the option to skip the ad.

The FAQ section on Netflix’s website notes that the selection of shows or movies may change from time to time.
Netflix executives said in their Q2 earnings call that Q3 subscriber additions would be lower than those in Q2. Making this offer to non-subscribers is likely an attempt to beef up those numbers.
It should be noted that these free episodes are available to everyone only on web browsers. On mobile, Android users will have access to the content, but iOS users will not, per Netflix.
