Ector Independent School District filled its vacancy for its athletic director position with an internal hire. Ector ISD named Blake Turner as the man for the job. Turner previously served as head coach for the Ector High School boys basketball team for the last five years while also leading the Eagles baseball program at the same time for the past three years.
Turner succeeds Terry Johnson, who held the position since 1991. During his time as head basketball and baseball coach, Turner guided the Eagles basketball program to a district championship and playoff berth each of the last five years, and he helped the Eagles baseball team qualify for the postseason both the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
