COVID-19 UPDATE: Officials report one more case of coronavirus in Fannin County

On Tuesday, Fannin County officials reported another positive coronavirus case in the county.

This brings the total number of cases to 24, however, 14 of those has recovered.

No further information on the new cases has been released.

On Friday, Fannin County Health Authority James Froelich reported three of the new cases was confirmed by the Texas Department State Health Services, one was confirmed to be a resident of Clyde W Cosper State Veterans Home, one an inmate at the Fannin County Jail and another a male from Telephone who tested positive through the drive-thru COVID-19 testing facility conducted by the Texas National Guard to Bonham on April 29. 

The Texas National Guard will be back in Fannin County on May 9 offering free COVID-19 testing. The tests will be for those currently experiencing COVID-19 like symptoms. Additional pre-screening may also be performed prior to administering the COVID-19 test. Click here to schedule an appointment or call 512-883-2400.

As of Monday, May 4, no new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Fannin County.
