Locals will celebrate the retirement of Bonham Police Department Dispatcher, Deanna Foster, on Jan. 18 after 26-years of service.
Foster is a Senior Telecommunications Officer at Bonham PD and began her career with the department on March 6, 1995.
Throughout her career, Foster has trained more than two dozen aspiring dispatchers, obtained her Master Telecommunicator Certificate, and been recognized as a Silent Hero and Life Saving Award Recipient.
Often called “Mama Foster,” her coworkers look to her for wisdom, guidance, and the occasional nurturing care only a mom can provide.
Foster and her husband have eight children and she is now the proud Nana to 18 of the most intelligent, kind, and beautiful grandkids ever claimed. She says her dogs, grandchildren, and her career are her life.
“I love the camaraderie here,” she said.
The department will celebrate Foster, at the Bonham Police Department municipal courtroom from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 18 and all are invited to attend.
