Ector ISD Athletic Director Blake Turner was recently awarded the Sportsmanship Award from the Paris Chapter of Basketball Officials.
Turner was named Athletic Director on July 28, 2020.
He previously served as head coach for the Ector High School boys basketball team for the last five years while also leading the Eagles baseball program at the same time for the past three years.
Turner succeeded Terry Johnson, who held the position since 1991.
During his time as head basketball and baseball coach, Turner guided the Eagles basketball program to a district championship and playoff berth each of the last five years, and he helped the Eagles baseball team qualify for the postseason both the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
Presenting the award is Mr. Lynn Patterson, who is a well-respected official from this officiating chapter.
