Fannin County Adopt-A-Cop, together with dozens within the community, are showing their support for local officers with an adoption event to boost officers’ morale during these uncertain times.
The organization posted a photo with the words “Back The Blue” on its Facebook page, encouraging followers to comment on the post in order to adopt an officer.
The first 80 people who comment “I BACK OUR BLUE” on the original post will receive a private message from the organization with a specific officer’s name and department they work in. This process is how citizens “adopt” a cop.
Those who adopt an officer are encouraged to pray for the officer they are assigned and to send the officer a gift such as a gift card, gift basket, a coffee or meal or anything else they feel would keep the officer in good spirits for the upcoming week.
The event lasts for one week, and those who supported an officer will have their names posted online to be recognized for their efforts.
